Le Jazz Moderne is the newest stage show created by producer Otto Vazquez, soon to drop in 2024! It is a production that bridges young dancers and performers with an 18-member Jazz orchestra, to showcase a modern take on such an iconic American musical style. From seeing Breakdancing, Popping and Locking done to Swing music, to witnessing innovative Rapping done to the backdrop of Bebop, it is a true modern manifestation of Jazz for all ages. A Lecture / Workshop is part discussion and lecture, part dancing. Otto discusses topics like plotting a career path in entertainment, practical solutions to pitfalls of the lifestyle. He uses the fact that he is currently a professional talent buyer to instruct entertainers on how to properly represent themselves and develop an eye for quality. Otto also does lectures on equity and historical racism regarding the topics of his novel “The Rebirth of Kool”. Afterwards, he conducts a Q&A to answer questions. The workshop shown above was Otto introducing the South Florida dance scene to Locking, via one of the original Lockers and Soul Train Dancer, Fluky Luke. Those present learned a great deal of music and dance history via Fluky’s vast knowledge and Otto’s revelations from a career spanning 20+ years.
